In 2000, Annette and Rüdiger Nehberg founded the human rights organization TARGET e. V. Rüdiger Nehberg as couple and board member. The Nehberg-Weber couple led the work of the organization for two decades. Their association and family life took them and their son Roman and daughter Sophie on joint adventures and expeditions to the Amazon rainforest in Brazil and to Africa.

Rüdiger Nehberg passed away in 2020. Roman Weber and Sophie Weber, son and daughter of Annette Nehberg-Weber from his first marriage, followed the wishes of the TARGET founder and were elected to the Board of Directors in 2020. Since then, they have managed the association together with Annette Nehberg-Weber as Managing Directors.
