Roman Weber

Roman Weber

Roman Weber has been active at TARGET since the association was founded in 2000 and is now head of strategic association development. Roman Weber is committed to the growth and safeguarding of project work as well as the expansion of the project portfolio.

His first expedition to the Amazon rainforest took survival expert Roman Weber to the indigenous Waiãpi people in his youth alongside survival legend and human rights activist Rüdiger Nehberg in 2002. Further joint missions with Nehberg took him to Ethiopia, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia and repeatedly to the rainforest in Brazil. In 2011, he accompanied mother Annette and Rüdiger, the two founders of TARGET, to the Danakil Desert in Ethiopia. There, the planned TARGET Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic for girls and women suffering from the consequences of female genital mutilation was under construction. In order to raise this to European standards, he gave up his previous professional field of work in the real estate industry and managed this project until it opened in 2015.

In 2020, he was unanimously elected to the Executive Board. It was always Rüdiger Nehberg's wish for him to take up the position on the Board as his successor.

Roman Weber and Feranda Brandão, presenter and fitness expert, have been a couple since 2020. Fernanda Brandão is also committed to helping indigenous people in Brazil. Together, Roman Weber and Fernanda Brandão launched the first TARGET project in 2022: clean drinking water for the Huni Kuin people in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest. The daughter Aurora, born in Swedish Lapland, joined the family in 2022.
