Donation receipt

At the beginning of the following year, we automatically send all donors a donation receipt for all donations made in the previous year. If you require an individual confirmation for a donation during the year, you can request this directly via our contact form. Please understand that we prefer to send individual confirmations by e-mail in order to save on postage costs. If you do not have an e-mail address, we will of course be happy to send you the individual confirmation by post.

In exceptional and special cases, we will also send the donation receipt immediately after posting.

Frequently asked questions

1. Can I also claim my donations without a donation receipt from the tax office?


For donations of up to €300 (amount applies per individual donation, not per year), it is sufficient to submit the transfer/deposit receipt to the tax office together with the so-called simplified proof of donation.

We would therefore like to transfer the decision - donation receipt yes/no - to you. Please let us know if you would like to opt out of postal delivery in future and submit your own documents to the tax office. It is possible to change your decision at any time. A brief message to us via the contact form is sufficient. The lower the costs for postage, materials and working time, the more money for the people in our projects.

2. When will I receive my donation receipt?

Donation receipts are expected to be sent out in February of the following year. If you have any questions in advance, please contact our donation service on 040 - 228 633 20 or via our contact form.

3. I have lost my donation receipt from last year. Can I receive a donation receipt again?

Yes, we can send you a donation receipt again. However, we are only allowed to issue donation receipts once as an original. However, we can send you a duplicate, which is usually also recognized by the tax office.

4. I have not received a donation receipt. What can I do?

If you have not received a donation receipt even though you have donated to us, there may be various reasons:

  • You donated to TARGET by bank transfer for the first time, but did not give us an address in the purpose of payment. We therefore do not have your contact details.
  • You have moved house and have not yet provided us with your current address.
  • You have already confirmed that you do not wish to receive a certificate.
  • You have requested to receive it by email, but your email address has changed.

    We would therefore ask you to call us in the above cases on 040 228 633 20 or contact us via the contact form so that the matter can be clarified.

    5. Can I also receive the donation receipt by email?

    Of course! We would like to promote this cost-saving method of transmission, as it allows the postage and material costs saved to flow directly into our projects. Please send us a message via the contact form with the subject "Please send donation receipt by e-mail" and include your current contact details (name, address and date of birth) for data comparison.

    6. I am missing a donation on the donation receipt. What can I do?

    If you are missing a donation, contact us. We will be happy to get to the bottom of the matter and find a solution. Initially, the following reasons may apply:

    • Your donation has already been confirmed with an individual receipt. Individual certificates that have already been sent therefore no longer appear in the annual certificate.
    • You made the donation at the turn of the year and the donation was only recorded by us in the new year. In this case, it is possible to change the booking date if you can prove to us (e.g. by bank statement) that you made the donation in the previous year.
