Thank you very much for your loyal donations! The trust you place in us is the basis of our commitment to the people in our projects. It motivates the TARGET team to take a forward-looking approach to ending female genital mutilation, promoting the health of indigenous peoples and preserving the last intact primeval forests on our planet. The diversity of your imaginative campaigns, donations in kind, monetary donations and even legacies as well as reserves form the foundation of our financial planning. A point that is very close to our hearts: Over 90 percent of our expenditure goes directly to the projects. We have provided a clear overview of income and expenditure here:
According to the guidelines of the DZI (German Institute for the Auditing of Donations), 70 percent of donations must go to the projects. Every year, TARGET e. V. publishes its business figures in an annual letter, which our supporters receive by post and anyone interested can view and download online.
We hereby present the overview of income and expenditure:
TARGET e. V. has budgeted the following income and expenditure for the year 2023 (see also the annual letter 2024):

This is why we do not have a DZI seal
TARGET is a registered association and recognized as charitable. TARGET has waived the DZI seal for cost reasons. The donation seal area within the DZI is a commercial business operation that is also subject to the full VAT rate. The preparation of the extensive registration documents would involve expenses of around 15,000 euros per year. We prefer to use this money for our projects
TARGET's non-profit status is checked regularly. We are obliged to submit a revenue-surplus statement to the tax office every year. The tax office checks whether the criteria for non-profit status are met. If this is the case, there is an official "certificate of non-objection", which TARGET has always received without any problems. This entitles the association to issue donation receipts.
