365 days a year, our employees, doctors and volunteers do valuable work around the clock for the people in need in our projects. Our obstetrics clinic in Ethiopia provides girls and women affected by female genital mutilation with important medical help: pregnancy and preventive examinations, safe births, gynecological treatments and preventive educational work on the topic of female genital mutilation.
In Guinea-Bissau, we distribute "The Golden Book", TARGET's major awareness campaign to end female genital mutilation. The more imams and supporters we can convince of our work as part of our campaign, the more people they can educate during their sermons that female genital mutilation is a punishable crime and must be stopped immediately on the basis of legally binding fatwas from high spiritual scholars of Islam!
The indigenous people of the Waiãpi are supported with an infirmary and a jungle clinic, making medical treatment possible directly in the Amazon rainforest and protecting the people from exploitation by the timber and resource industry. Securing their livelihood and preserving the rainforest, with its flora and fauna as a kilmagarant, is a vital contribution to the future of generations to come.
