Every day, 8,000 girls and women are robbed of their genitals and dignity. The girls and women affected by female genital mutilation suffer not only physical, but also severe psychological damage that lasts a lifetime.

"The Golden Book" awareness campaign

"The Golden Book" was designed as a sermon template for imams and is a key tool of TARGET's awareness campaign in African countries where the cruel tradition of female genital mutilation is practiced.

The fatwas (religious opinions)

They form the basis of the Golden Book: the fatwas. High scholars of Islam follow TARGET's mission and have laid down in a religious legal opinion that female genital mutilation is a punishable crime that must be stopped immediately.

The Golden Book for Guinea-Bissau

In 2012, TARGET's initiative for an end to female genital mutilation started with the Golden Book in Guinea-Bissau. With this campaign, we are working tirelessly for a rapid end to female genital mutilation in Guinea-Bissau.

The obstetrics clinic in Ethiopia

The Guarani-Kaiowá

With an infirmary built by TARGET e. V., we provide 250 families with general medical, dental, psychological and nutritional care directly on site in southwest Brazil.

The Munduruku indigenous reserve is located in the northern state of Pará in Brazil. It covers 2,382,000 hectares and is home to over 6,500 indigenous people.

The Saami

The Saami are the last indigenous people in Europe. TARGET has been supporting the Swedish Saami community "Jåhkågaska tjiellde" since the end of 2022 to protect the land of their ancestors from exploitation by corporations.
