Sophie Weber

Sophie Weber implemented her first Nehberg project for people in Africa on the occasion of her First Communion at the age of 9: Cows for an improved livelihood for the indigenous Sans people in Namibia.

Shortly afterwards, at the age of 12, she made her first trip to the indigenous Waiãpi people, together with her brother Roman, mother Annette and Rüdiger Nehberg. Further project trips took her to the indigenous people time and again, resulting in friendships that continue to this day. In 2012, she supervised the construction of the jungle clinic for the Waiãpi together with her mother Annette Nehberg-Weber. Sophie Weber initially studied International Management and International Development Policy, which was followed by professional diplomatic assignments in Brazil.

She has headed the Brazil projects for indigenous peoples since 2019. She was elected to the Executive Board in 2020.
