Brazil: We are expanding!

Another indigenous people receives urgently needed help: Fernanda Brandão and TARGET e. V. provide the indigenous Huni Kuin people with clean drinking water!

Unfortunately, access to clean drinking water is no longer a matter of course, even for indigenous peoples in the middle of the Amazon rainforest. Pollution with mercury from gold prospectors, diesel residues from motorboats and faeces lead to infectious diseases, diarrhea and high infant mortality. Since June of this year, 105 families of the Huni Kuin have now had access to clean drinking water. TARGET e. V. built 5 wells and 2 solar-powered pump systems with a water tower and storage basin.

This lays the foundation for good health, a fundamental building block for a good life in the forest - a forest that the indigenous peoples protect and preserve for us all.
