Completion of TARGET's new infirmary at the Waiãpi

A true tour de force in the middle of the tropical, humid Amazon rainforest and another masterpiece by TARGET project coordinator and master builder Hosti Jose and his team!

We are proud to have 133 m2 of infirmary where the team from the Indigenous Health Secretariat (port.: Secretaria Especial de Saúde Indígena - SESAI) of the Brazilian Ministry of Health can now provide medical assistance. In addition to minor treatments for colds, fevers or injuries, the ward is the first port of call for accidents, snake bites, pregnancy complications and difficult births.

The new infirmary is located deep in the jungle on a strategic river that is important to the Waiãpi, which several villages can use to reach the station.
