"Rose d'Or" festival: TV documentary about TARGET's work receives award

The "Social Award", presented for the first time at the 50th "Rose d'Or" Festival in Lucerne, went to the film "Caravan of Hope" (English title: "Desert Tears") - the TV documentary by directors Dr Bernhard Albrecht and Karsten Scheuren about the struggle of human rights activists Annette and Rüdiger Nehberg with their organization TARGET e. V. against female genital mutilation.

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder presented the filmmakers with the prestigious award. After the Adolf Grimme Prize, this is the second prestigious trophy for them this year. "A sensational success. We are delighted with the award winners and feel very encouraged in our work for the girls of Africa," said Nehberg.
