§ 1
1. the association bears the name TARGET e. V. Ruediger Nehberg. It is entered in the register of associations of the Lübeck Local Court and bears the addition "registered association (e. V.)".
§ 2
Purpose of the association
1. the purpose of the association is to help human rights, as laid down in the UN Charter, EU legislation and the German Basic Law, to be respected and enforced throughout the world. This is done by promoting equal rights for women and men, in particular by combating all forms of human rights violations committed against women on the basis of their belonging to the female sex, and by providing assistance to victims of crime.
Furthermore, the purpose of the association is to promote international sentiment, tolerance in all areas of culture and international understanding, to promote public health and public health care, to promote development cooperation, in particular for the rights and protection of indigenous peoples, and to promote environmental protection, in particular for the preservation of the rainforest2. the purpose of the statutes is realized in particular through research on site, through awareness raising, through educational work in the media and on site and through its own publications. The association provides concrete help for individual victims and for population groups that have been or are exposed to human rights violations. In addition, the association provides development cooperation in the form of the construction of healthcare facilities, educational projects and training, e.g. for teachers, nurses and midwives.
3. in order to achieve and implement its objectives, the association also works together with other organizations within the framework of its own objectives.
4. the association pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes within the meaning of the section "Tax-privileged purposes" of the German Tax Code. It may receive and spend donations. The association's funds may only be used for the association's statutory purposes. Donations or contributions that are exclusively intended for this purpose shall accrue directly to the Association's assets. No person may benefit from expenses that are alien to the purpose of the association or from disproportionately high remuneration. Members of the association may not receive any financial remuneration or benefits solely on the basis of their membership.
5. the association is selflessly active; it does not primarily pursue its own economic purposes.
§ 3
Membership
1. any natural person who has reached the age of 18 can become a member of the association, as can legal entities

2. anyone who is committed to the purpose of the association and supports it through concrete action can become a member.
3. the board of the association decides on the admission of members on the basis of a written application for admission in which the applicant undertakes to comply with the provisions of the articles of association. The decision on the admission of members must be taken unanimously.

A member can be expelled from the association if the member has moved to an unknown address and the letter could not be delivered due to an unknown address after two letters were sent. A member can also be expelled from the association if they behave in a manner that is detrimental to the association or grossly violates the interests of the association. The Executive Board decides on expulsion with a majority of ¾ of the votes cast.
§ 6
Contributions
1. members shall pay contributions, the amount and due date of which shall be determined by the general meeting of members
.2. upon leaving the association, a member has no claim to the association's assets.

Members' meeting
1. general meetings take place once a year. The general meeting decides in particular on
- Changes to the articles of association
- The appointment and dismissal of members of the Executive Board and their discharge
- The amount and due date of membership fees
- The expulsion of a member
- The dissolution of the association and the use of its assets
2. the general meetings shall be convened by the Executive Board, stating the agenda. The invitations must be sent in writing to the individual active members at least 14 days before the general meeting is held. Furthermore, general meetings shall be held if this is requested in writing by at least 1/5 of the members entitled to vote, stating the reason. The request must be addressed to the Executive Board.
3 The meetings do not have to take place at the registered office of the association. The general meeting can also be held as a so-called virtual meeting. The Executive Board shall announce whether this form or an in-person meeting is to take place when issuing the invitation. Resolutions may also be passed without a meeting if 9/10 of the members entitled to vote approve the resolution in writing after each member has received the draft resolution in writing.
4. Representation is also permitted at the General Meeting when exercising voting rights. However, a member may only be represented by one of the other members entitled to vote. A member with voting rights may not exercise voting rights for more than two other members. The power of representation must be evidenced by a written power of attorney.
5. the general meeting constitutes a quorum if at least 1/3 of the members entitled to vote are present. Resolutions are passed by a majority of the members present; in the event of a tie, the chairperson of the meeting has the casting vote. Abstentions are considered invalid votes. If at least three members entitled to vote request a secret ballot, the resolution must be passed in writing using ballot papers.
6. a majority of 3/4 of the voting members present is required for resolutions on amendments to the Articles of Association. Unanimity is required to amend § 3 of the Articles of Association. A majority of 9/10 of the voting members present is required to change the purpose of the association and to dissolve the association.
7. the meeting shall be chaired by the chairperson to be elected by the members.
8. Minutes shall be taken of the proceedings of the meeting. These minutes must be signed by a member of the Executive Board and the secretary.
§ 9
Executive Board
1. the Executive Board within the meaning of § 26 BGB consists of at least 1 and at most 3 persons. These regulate the distribution of work within the Executive Board.
2. each member of the Executive Board is authorized to represent the association alone in and out of court.
3. only one voting member of the association may be elected as a member of the Executive Board.
4. The Board of Directors may work on a voluntary or professional basis. The Executive Board may receive appropriate remuneration for its activities.
5. The Board of Directors passes its resolutions at Board meetings. However, resolutions can also be passed in writing, but then only unanimously. Otherwise, a simple majority is sufficient for resolutions.
6. board meetings can be convened in writing by any board member with a notice period of 1 week, stating the agenda.
§ 10
Dissolution of the association
If the association is dissolved or its tax-privileged purposes cease to exist, the assets of the association shall be transferred to another tax-privileged body, in proportion to
25% to a tax-privileged corporation that is committed to the protection of indigenous peoples in Brazil for the purpose of promoting development cooperation in accordance with § 52 AO.
and to
75% to a tax-privileged corporation that campaigns locally for the end of female genital mutilation and supports TARGET's obstetrics clinic in Ethiopia for the purpose of promoting development cooperation in accordance with Section 52 AO.
